Secor Road work to shut lanes, lower speed limit

3/16/2010

Lane closings and a reduced speed limit will take effect on part of Secor Road on Wednesday morning as a major reconstruction project gets started.

The northbound lanes will be closed for rebuilding between Monroe Street and Laskey Road until early summer, with two-way traffic set up on the southbound lanes, city officials announced yesterday. The speed limit through the area will be reduced to 35 mph.

Once the northbound lanes are rebuilt, traffic will shift onto them for the southbound lanes' reconstruction. All work is to be completed by October.

Motorists should consider using Douglas or Talmadge roads as alternate routes.
