3/16/2010

PORT CLINTON - The State Rt. 163 drawbridge over the Portage River will close to highway and river traffic for repairs starting this morning, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

The work had been scheduled to start yesterday but was delayed by an equipment problem.

The bridge is scheduled to reopen to motor vehicles on March 29 but remain closed to river traffic until April 1.

From April 1 through April 5, boats will be able to get through but must call the Ottawa County Engineer, 419-734-6777, at least 24 hours in advance to request bridge openings.
