Four people were injured Tuesday when an ambulance with a patient aboard collided with a car in Maumee on its way to St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee police said.

The crash occurred about

3:45 a.m. at the Anthony Wayne Trail and Conant Street.

The ambulance, with its lights and siren activated, was westbound on the Trail and the car was southbound on Conant when the crash occurred, police said.

The patient, who was being transported by a Maumee EMS squad, did not appear to be hurt in the crash, police said.

Injured were three paramedics in the ambulance and the driver of the car, none of whose names were being released last night.

The paramedics were treated at St. Luke's Hospital, where their patient was also transported by another life squad.

The driver of the car was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, with what police described as nonlife-threatening injuries.
