BOWLING GREEN - A Bowling Green woman died after being injured in a five-vehicle crash on North Main Street in the city, authorities said yesterday.

Christa L. Bowen, 35, driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead about 11 p.m. Monday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Bowling Green police Lt. Tony Hetrick said.

Ms. Bowen had a green light when turning south onto North Main from a shopping plaza parking lot in the 1000 block about 7:40 p.m. Monday.

Her car was struck broadside by a southbound sport utility vehicle that had run a red light, Lieutenant Hetrick said.

Lehman Myers, Sr., 81, driver of the SUV, was taken to Wood County Hospital, according to the crash report. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The collision caused the Bowen car to rotate, striking two other vehicles. The SUV also hit another vehicle. Their occupants were not hurt.

The case was forwarded for review by the county prosecutor's office, the lieutenant said.
