ADRIAN - A 2-year-old Adrian boy died of a broken neck soon after being struck by a car when he darted into the street in front of an aunt's home Friday evening, authorities said Saturday.

Keyon Glynn died shortly after 9 p.m. in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where he was flown after the 7:45 p.m. accident, Lucas County Deputy Coroner Dr. Diane Barnett said.

Keyon was being watched by an aunt, Christina Edmonds, 38, when he ran into the street from between parked cars, Adrian Police Sgt. Tom Ray said.

The boy was struck by a car driven by Shawn Luce, 41, of Adrian. He was westbound in the 1000 block of East Church Street, Sergeant Ray said.

Dr. Barnett said Keyon darted away from his aunt, and when she gave chase, he thought she was playing a game and ran into the street.

The incident remains under investigation.
