One person was killed and several others were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in North Toledo.
The fire at 4907 Suder Ave., near Ottawa River Road, was reported about 7:45 a.m. and was brought under control about 8:10 a.m., authorities said.
An adult male was found dead in a second floor apartment after firefighters made a forced entry, Toledo fire Battalion Chief David Hitt said. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The chief said all residents of the 12-unit building were evacuated and several were treated at the scene with oxygen for smoke inhalation.
