Man indicted for robberies, rape of Toledo women

A man accused of hiding in the backseat of unlocked cars to rob the owners was charged by a Lucas County grand jury Tuesday in a 15-count indictment.

Delexis Maloy, 20, is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, six counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of kidnapping, and one count each of attempted rape, burglary, and rape. Each of the charges include a 3-year gun specification.

Maloy is charged in the following cases: a sexual assault at Collingwood Boulevard and Palmwood Avenue late March 9, a backseat robbery at 330 West Central Ave. early March 9, a robbery outside apartments in the 2400 block of Collingwood Boulevard about 1:15 a.m. March 8, a robbery and assault at the Crown Inn Motel on West Alexis Road March 4, another backseat robbery in the 700 block of South Avenue about 9:20 p.m. March 3, and the holdup of a Subway restaurant in the 1500 block of Broadway about 9:45 p.m. March 2.

If convicted, Maloy faces up to 164 years in prison. He remains in custody at the Lucas County Jail in lieu of a $1.1 million bond.
