Twenty-four people were arrested in Lucas County during a one-day fugitive sweep targeting individuals who had outstanding warrants for driving while intoxicated, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force announced Wednesday.

The sweep, which cleared a total of 112 outstanding warrants, was held Tuesday in conjunction with the Lucas County Sheriff's Office. Those arrested were booked in the county jail and arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court yesterday.

"The overwhelming success of this operation is mainly due to the coordinated efforts of our state and local law enforcement partners and the U.S. Marshals Service. We're very proud to work with all of them while apprehending wanted individuals," Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Steve Miller said.
