Perrysburg to layoff 9 teachers, 33 other employees
4/19/2010Layoff notices will be going out to 9 teachers and 33 nonteaching employees of the Perrysburg schools, the Board of Education decided at its 7 p.m. Monday meeting.
The teachers being eliminated give instruction in health, business, band, voice and music, orchestra, and English.
The nonteaching personnel are secretaries, monitors, and librarians.
Most of the cuts are at the high school and junior high levels.
The district is coping with a projected $3 million budget shortfall for the 2010-11 academic year.
