6 departments in northwest Ohio to get firefighting aid

Six more northwest Ohio fire departments will receive money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, according to the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.

They are the Edgerton Fire Department Station 2 in Williams County ($5,225), the Kalida Volunteer Fire Department in Putnam County ($13,490), the Kansas Community Volunteer Fire Department in Seneca County ($128,822), the Liberty-Washington Township Fire Department in Henry County ($62,700), and the Lima Fire Department ($99,456) and Shawnee Township Fire Department ($65,313), both in Allen County.

The funds will be used for training and equipment upgrades.
