FREMONT - A Marblehead, Ohio, man was killed Saturday night when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and crashed on U.S. 6 northeast of Fremont, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol's Fremont post.

Jeremy R. Terry, 21, was headed east near Sandusky County Road 226 in Riley Township when the SUV went off the right edge of the road, then veered across to the left, and went into a ditch, troopers said. The vehicle overturned and struck a tree before stopping on its roof.

Mr. Terry, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not wearing a seat belt. The highway was closed for about two hours after the 10:55 p.m. crash, which remains under investigation.
