Gladwyn Richardson is one of the original teachers at Toledo Technology Academy and is known for keeping the best interests of his students in mind.

Mr. Richardson attended the University of Toledo and was selected as Science Teacher of the Year in 1996 by Sigma XI. He is an accomplished research chemist with articles published in the Fresenius Journal of Analytic Chemistry. He is a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Analytic Science. Mr. Richardson administered the Research Apprenticeships in Science Program at the University of Toledo.

Before coming to Toledo Technology Academy, he taught at Scott High School. He enjoys computers and teaching part-time at the University of Toledo. “Mr. Richardson truly does inspire students,” said Gary Thompson, director.

“He teaches employing a ‘hands-on' method which involves students from day one. As you can see, he is involved in many schoolwide activities. One of his goals, along with delivering the highest quality education possible, is to insure that students at TTA have the opportunity to participate in activities that enhance their education.

“I think one of the freshman two years ago summed it up best. He was talking with me in the office and asking about the structure of the school. He said ‘Oh, I see, you are the head of the school, but Mr. Richardson is the heart.'”
