Baby girl from Monroe dies at hospital in Toledo

A 5-week-old Monroe infant who authorities said suffered injuries that are consistent with shaken baby syndrome died early Friday in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Steve Kahle, an investigator with the Lucas County Coroner's office, said Addriana Jackson died about 6 a.m. in the hospital.

Monroe police said the girl was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe by her parents on April 29 and transferred later to St. Vincent's.

An autopsy was being performed Friday. Police are not releasing the names of the baby's parents.
