Golf event to aid fund for Clyde cancer victim

5/11/2010

CLYDE, Ohio — Registration has been extended until noon Friday for Saturday's memorial golf outing in honor of the late Alexa Brown, who helped raise public awareness of a yet-unexplained childhood cancer cluster in eastern Sandusky County.

Alexa, 11, died in August after a lengthy battle with cancer. Event proceeds will aid a scholarship fund her parents, Warren and Wendy Brown, set up in her memory.

A $60-a-person entry fee covers 18 holes, cart, and meal. Meals only are available for $10. There will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start and 36 teams of four players, with no handicap limit.

Par 3 holes-in-one may win a car, big-screen TV, set of irons, or domestic air fare for two.
