Motorcyclist killed after collision with SUV in Sandusky County

A man was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle as it collided with a sport-utility vehicle in Sandusky County's York Township, Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist, Chad A. Basil, 19, of Bellevue, was dead at the scene, troopers said. He was wearing a helmet.

The other driver, Trisha A. Smith, 25, of Green Springs, was not hurt.

Mr. Basil was southbound on Township Road 308 at Seneca County Line Road about 3:50 p.m. Sunday as Ms. Smith drove westbound on Seneca County Line into his path, troopers said.

No citations have been issued and the crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
