SWANTON — A Swanton police officer is credited with saving the life of a man who was found not breathing Sunday in a house at 112 Chestnut St.

Officer Dominic Lofiego was first to arrive at the home shortly after 10:15 p.m. The man, who was not identified, wasn't breathing, Officer Lofiego said.

He cleared blockage from the man's airway and performed CPR until a rescue squad arrived. The man, who police said is about 30 years old, was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio.
