Lucas County agency picks interim director

5/19/2010

The Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board has appointed its chairman as the agency's interim executive director.

David Schlaudecker will fill the position without pay while the board searches for a new, permanent executive director to replace Jacqueline Martin, who resigned earlier this month.

Mr. Schlaudecker said his priorities are putting together a search committee to find candidates for the executive director's job, and getting the mental health agency's fiscal year 2011 budget adopted during the board's June 17 meeting. Ms. Martin resigned the executive director's job after holding it for 10 years, but will remain at the agency until February at $145,000 in annual compensation.

Mr. Schlaudecker was an attorney in private practice and a vice president at Owens Corning earlier in his career. He also is executive director of Leadership Toledo, a nonprofit group that seeks to produce community leaders.
