Barricaded homeowner put on year's probation

A Stony Ridge man who barricaded himself inside a house after the bank had foreclosed on it was placed on probation for one year Tuesday in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

Keith Sadler, 53, pleaded no contest to criminal trespassing and obstruction of official business. Municipal Judge Dwight Osterud gave him a 90-day suspended sentence and ordered him to pay court costs.

Mr. Sadler and seven others were arrested May 7 when sheriff's deputies forced their way into the house and removed them.

The group had spent five nights barricaded inside the house to make a stand against what Mr. Sadler called a corrupt system of bank foreclosure.

All of those involved entered no-contest pleas yesterday and received one year of probation.
