BOWLING GREEN β€” A former Wayne, Ohio, police officer recently reversed his plea on six counts of theft resulting from the use of a state computer database for nonpolice inquiries.

Ricky Goatee, Jr., 34, of Fremont pleaded guilty Tuesday to six counts of theft in office stemming from incidents that occurred in 2009. He is to be sentenced 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 by Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex.

Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson has said the former officer was using the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway access β€œto run information on people who had no connection to the police department.”
