To be open June 21 through mid-August, noon until 6 p.m.
Pool complex for all ages (closed Mondays): Willys Park, 1375 Hillcrest Ave. Admission, $2; children under 12, $1.
Pools for children 12 and under (closed Sundays):

SPORTS
City Leagues
Register for coach pitch (for 8 and under) and T-ball (ages 4 to 6) at Ottawa Park, 2201 Ottawa Pky. Leagues play once a week. T-ball is free. Coach pitch is approximately $10 per child.
Kid's Fishing Rodeo
At Sleepy Hollow Park (Dorr Steet at Richards Road).
July 10, 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Registration starts 9 a.m. Prizes awarded to boy and girl in each age bracket who catches biggest fish. Free for ages 5-15.
East Toledo Family Center
Runs baseball programs for all ages through the summer. Call 419-691-1429.

MUSIC
The Ottawa-Jermain Park Board hosts concerts at the Ottawa Park amphitheater from 6-8 p.m. on Saturdays from July 10-Aug. 14. The concerts feature local musicians and each week a different genre of music is presented, including jazz, blues, swing, bluegrass, and rock.

“Summer Fun Fest”
East Toledo Family Center, 1020 Varland Ave., July 31, Noon-4 p.m. Free games and rides. To audition for the “East Side Idol” contest, call the center at 419-691-1429.
The Kelly Miller Circus, Friendship Park, Aug. 5, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. shows. In the morning, elephants will put up the big top. Tickets: $10 for adults, $6 for children.
YMCA FUN BUS
The fun bus will visit city parks and public housing sites for a few hours throughout the weekday. Exact dates and times to be confirmed.
Parks include: Ravine Park, Navarre Park, Walbridge Park, Joe E. Brown Park, Nathan Hale Park, Robinson Junior High Park, Ottawa Park, Highland Park, Glenwood Park near Glenwood Elementary School, Cherry Elementary School park, and Spring Elementary School park.
Public Housing sites include: Brand Whitlock Homes/Albertus Brown Homes; McClinton Nunn Homes; Weiler Homes; Port Lawrence Homes, and Ravine Park Village
COMMUNITY CENTERS
James C. Caldwell Community Center, 3201 Stickney Ave., 419-729-4654
School Safe Haven Police Mini-Station Program. Ages 12-15. Free. Monday-Thursday, June 7-Aug. 19. Noon-5 p.m. Provides tutoring, field trips, outdoor activities, and involvement in community service projects.
Youth Opportunities Program for ages 14-18. An academic enrichment program that runs year-round and helps low-income, at-risk youth prepare for the job market and build a better future for themselves. Rewards for success include fun-filled field trips and camping experiences.

Offers sports and tutoring programs for children of all ages. The center also runs free summer tutoring programs for children who need help with reading and math.
On July 31, the family center will hold a “Summer Fun Fest” with free amusement rides and games, and an American Idol-style contest. Auditions will be prior to the festival.

Runs a low-cost summer program three days a week for elementary through high school students from Toledo at the Perrysburg Heights Community Center in Perrysburg. Cost is $25 for the summer. Transportation to the center is included.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS
For children ages 7-18 who are in school. Offers swimming, drop-in classes and activities, and a residential summer camp. Annual membership is $3 for children ages 7-15 and $5 for those 16-18.
