The Toledo Bar Association swore in its new president this week during the organization's annual meeting that included the presentation of service awards.

Attorney Stephen M. Dane became the association's 110th president. A partner with Relman, Dane & Colfax, Mr. Dane is a civil rights attorney practicing primarily in the areas of fair housing, insurance red-lining, mortgage lending discrimination, and equal credit opportunity.

Mr. Dane is a graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Toledo College of Law. He will assume leadership duties for the Toledo Bar Association on July 1.

Posthumously receiving the Community Service Award were James W. Millon and John E. Wagoner.

Mr. Millon was a co-founder of the Order of the Elves, which provides support to children in foster care and waiting for adoption.

Mr. Wagoner led 10 mission trips to Central America, assisting Habitat for Humanity in building homes for the needy.

Dana Ewing of HCR ManorCare was the recipient of the Trustees Award for outstanding service. Ms. Ewing is active in several committees and has provided leadership to the Bar, notably through the Color of Justice Program that exposes Toledo junior high school students to careers in the law.
