The man charged with shooting a South Toledo woman to death was indicted Tuesday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Darris Adams, 23, was charged with two alternate counts of murder, each with a gun specification. If convicted, he faces 18 years to life in prison.

Mr. Adams is accused of killing Cheryl Bugbee, 21, of Carver Boulevard who died June 16 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital. She was struck by six bullets and died of massive blood loss, the Lucas County coroner ruled.

Mr. Adams surrendered to police and confessed to the shooting. The victim's relatives described him as a co-worker.
