Scouts to rename site for Richard P. Anderson

PIONEER, Ohio — Erie Shores Council of Boy Scouts of America plans to rename its Pioneer Scout Reservation for Richard P. Anderson, a former council president and retired president and chief executive officer of The Andersons.

The Richard P. Anderson Pioneer Scout Reservation and Preserve will be dedicated at 5:45 p.m. today during a ceremony at the Boy Scout summer camp.

The Pioneer Scout Reservation was formally dedicated June 28, 1970.

Mr. Anderson, who helped raise funds for the camp, has received scouting's Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards for his leadership and service to scouting.
