An Oregon woman has sued the manufacturer of a hair-removal lotion, claiming it caused chemical burns on her body.

Lisa Irving-Radecke filed the lawsuit last week against the New York-based Del Laboratories Inc. According to the lawsuit, Ms. Irving-Radecke was seriously injured after using one of the company's products known as Sally Hansen Extra Strength Hair Removal Lotion.

The lawsuit, filed by lawyers at Wagoner & Steinberg Ltd., claimed Ms. Irving-Radecke had used the product for about a year without problems. When she applied the product as directed in July, 2008, she felt a burning on her legs.

The irritation and redness became “intolerable,” and she was diagnosed in the hospital emergency room as having chemical burns on both legs, the lawsuit said. The complaint seeks in excess of $25,000.
