The Andersons Inc. announced Wednesday that it had a second-quarter profit of $25.2 million, higher than the $15.9 million in the same period a year ago.
The Maumee agribusiness said it had a per-share profit of $1.36 in the latest quarter, up from 87 cents a year ago. It had revenues in the latest quarter of $811 million, virtually the same as a year ago.
The firm's grain and ethanol operation had a record performance and its plant nutrient group had a strong showing, the company said.
The financial results were released after the stock market closed. The Andersons shares closed at $34.65 a share on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
