Suspect in dog's shooting rearrested

A Toledo man charged with luring his neighbor's dog onto his property and then shooting it twice was taken into custody Tuesday after a Toledo Municipal Court judge determined that he violated orders to stay away from the pet owners.

Eric Skowron appeared in court yesterday after a complaint was filed against him by Kelly Luck. Ms. Luck alerted the court that Mr. Skowron had been seen driving past her home in violation of the judge's orders.

After a brief hearing, Judge Michael Goulding revoked Mr. Skowron's recognizance bonds and ordered that he be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $3,000 surety bond. Yesterday he was released from the jail after bond was paid.

Mr. Skowron, 34, of 1108 Rochelle Rd., and Alisha King, 29, of Lambertville have pleaded not guilty to animal-cruelty charges for a shooting incident on June 23, partially caught on surveillance video, in which the Lucks' 9-year-old dog, Tyson, was wounded by two 45-caliber bullets.

Mr. Skowron is charged with animal torture, killing or injuring animals, firearms discharge, making a false police report, petty theft, endangering, and criminal trespass.

Ms. King faces charges of animal torture, killing or injuring animals, petty theft, and criminal trespass. They have a Sept. 14 court date scheduled.

At their July arraignment, the couple were warned not to have contact with the dog's owners, including driving past their home.
