Trial set in slaying at South Toledo party

A Toledo man charged with the shooting death of a man outside an Arlington Avenue party will go on trial Nov. 8 in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Jonathan Jackson, 18, of 2142 Dana St. is charged with two alternate counts of murder and one count of felonious assault, each with a gun specification. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

Mr. Jackson is accused of shooting Donald Corrigan, 20, outside an apartment building at 2010 Arlington about 2 a.m.April 21. The victim was armed, and police said the two exchanged gunfire before Corrigan was shot once in the chest and killed.

Mr. Jackson also faces a felonious assault charge in connection with another man's being shot in the foot.

Judge Gene Zmuda set the trial date Wednesday.

A second man is charged with supplying Mr. Jackson the gun used during the incident. Tyler Macrae is charged with felonious assault with a gun specification and is to appear for arraignment Tuesday before Judge James Bates.
