A 21-year-old Toledo man was sentenced Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to life in prison for fatally beating Jeffrey Patterson.

Aaron Jones, of 569 Church St., received concurrent sentences for murder and aggravated robbery from Judge James Jensen. He will be eligible to ask for parole in 15 years.

A jury last month found Jones guilty of killing Mr. Patterson, 49, whose was found badly beaten June 20, 2009 at the entrance of a south Toledo mobile home park.

Jones was arrested Aug. 27, 2009, at his home after authorities had spent more than two months investigating leads. Shortly after the slaying, the family offered a $5,000 reward in hopes of enticing witnesses to come forward.
