Van Wert judge hopefuls have Sept. 16 deadline
8/25/2010VAN WERT, Ohio — Candidates interested in the vacant seat on the Van Wert Municipal Court have until Sept. 16 to submit their applications to the Ohio Judicial Appointments Recommendation Panel.
Judge Phil Campbell vacated the judgeship July 15 after the Ohio Supreme Court suspended his law license for professional misconduct. He promptly resigned his position.
Applicants must be residents and registered voters in Van Wert County, must be under the age of 70 on the day they would start their duties, and must have been practicing law for six years prior to assuming the judgeship or have served as a judge of a court in any U.S. jurisdiction.
