MONROE — A Monroe County Circuit Court jury on Wednesday convicted a former middle school basketball coach of sexual misconduct charges involving a 14-year-old girl.

Richard A. Neff, 47, the former girls basketball coach at Dundee Middle School, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count each of second degree criminal sexual conduct and accosting a minor for immoral purposes.

Neff, who went on trial Monday, was remanded into custody by Judge Joseph Costello, Jr., after the guilty verdicts were announced.

Authorities said Neff had a sexual relationship with the girl who was a member of the middle school basketball team that he coached.
