Labor Day holiday closings in area
9/4/2010Toledo, county, state, and federal government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle deputy registrar sites across the state will be closed as well. A list of select businesses and services follows:
Public utilities
Emergency services are available for Toledo Edison or First Energy and Columbia Gas customers.
Retail centers
Westfield Franklin Park Mall will have regular hours.
The Shops at Fallen Timbers will have regular hours.
(Hours may vary for department stores, theaters, and restaurants.)
Town Center at Levis Commons retail stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call for theater and restaurant hours.
Trash pickup
Refuse collection will leap one day as scheduled on calendar for Toledo residents.
Collection services in other communities vary.
Libraries
The Main Toledo-Lucas County Public Library downtown and all its branches will be closed Sunday and Monday.
Mail service
Post offices are closed; mail will not be delivered.
Bus service
Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on a holiday schedule.
Parking
Meter parking in downtown Toledo will be free.
Schools
Toledo Public Schools, the University of Toledo, Owens Community College, and Bowling Green State University will be closed.
