FINDLAY - A volunteer with the Hancock County chapter of the American Red Cross has been named the statewide Red Cross Disaster Health Services Adviser in Ohio.

Darlene Baney, a retired nurse who has been an active member of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team in Hancock County, also is the volunteer chairman of the chapter's disaster services leadership team and is a reservist for the National American Red Cross, which responds to large-scale disasters across the country.

"Darlene is recognized as a leader in Red Cross Disaster Health Services and we couldn't have anyone better representing the Red Cross to other chapters and partner agencies in the state," Todd James, executive director of the Hancock County chapter, said in a statement.
