Toledo man found guilty charges related to insurance fraud
9/15/2010BOWLING GREEN — A jury in Wood County Common Pleas Court returned guilty verdicts Tuesday afternoon against a Toledo man charged with complicity to insurance fraud.
Christopher Davis, 34, was convicted of complicity to insurance fraud, complicity to theft, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. He is to be sentenced at 2 p.m. Nov. 5, at which time Judge Alan Mayberry also plans to hold a restitution hearing.
His conviction, following a two-day jury trial, comes about six weeks after co-defendant Dr. Stacey Royal, 45, of McMurray, Pa., pleaded guilty to four counts each of insurance fraud and theft, two counts of telecommunications fraud, and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity stemming from improper billing from the former Royal Treatment Urgent Care on West South Boundary Street in Perrysburg.
Davis, who prosecutors said was Royal's common-law husband, also worked in the medical office.
