FREMONT — Sandusky County commissioners this week agreed to have solar panels installed at the county health department.

Under an agreement with Athens, Ohio-based Dovetail Solar and Wind, the company will provide and install the equipment and the county will purchase the electricity generated by the system for 10 years.

County Administrator Warren Brown said the solar panels are expected to supply about 25 percent of the electricity needs of the building, while saving the county about a half a cent per kilowatt hour.
