TIFFIN - A Tiffin man was injured Saturday when he was thrown from his motorcycle in Seneca County's Hopewell Township, troopers at the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Herman Valentine, 59, was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital. His condition was not released.

Troopers said Mr. Valentine was southbound on Township Road 121 between County roads 48 and 26, west of Tiffin, about 2:15 p.m. when his motorcycle drove off the right side of the road and back. The motorcycle then left the road again, striking a ditch and a telephone junction box after ejecting Mr. Valentine. Troopers did not report whether Mr. Valentine wore a helmet.
