CLYDE, Ohio - Police Friday charged a 17-year-old boy with two counts of delinquency in connection with vandalism stemming from destructive acts committed at McPherson Cemetery in August.

Sgt. Mark Roach said the youth was one of two boys initially suspected in the vandalism spree but had been held in the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center only on a probation violation. A second 17-year-old was charged with one count of vandalism. Sergeant Roach said charges are pending against a third suspect but would not be filed pending results of forensic testing.

More than 170 headstones were knocked over or broken and flowers and others items from 50 other grave sites were scattered around the cemetery during three nights of vandalism in late August.
