SANDUSKY — A former employee of the Erie County Treasurer's Office who stole more than $146,000 from the county was sentenced Friday to three years in prison.

Erie County Common Pleas Judge Tygh Tone imposed the sentence on Tamara Holeton, 41, of Sandusky and ordered her to pay an as-yet-undetermined amount of restitution. Her attorney, Troy Wisehart, said she'd be eligible to apply for early release in six months and expects a restitution hearing once she can work again.

Holeton pleaded guilty in August to theft in office and tampering with records for stealing $146,592 between 2005 and 2009.
