3 Pinewood Ave. houses burn
10/2/2010Toledo firefighters early Saturday battled blazes at three houses in the 700 block of Pinewood Avenue in the central city.
Crews arrived about 4:30 a.m. to find 722 Pinewood ablaze, fire authorities said. The fire spread to houses on either side, 718 Pinewood and 724 Pinewood.
No one was injured, authorities said. The cause is under investigation.
Fire authorities estimated the loss to 722 Pinewood at $30,000. The structure was owned by Sandra Barringer, according to Lucas County auditor's records. It was demolished later in the day.
The house at 718 Pinewood is owned by Stephen Gibbs of Charlevoix Court, according to auditor's records, and sustained $10,000 worth of damage.
The damage estimate also was $10,000 for the house at 724 Pinewood, which according to auditor's records is owned by J. Simmons. Residents there did not return to the home and sought assistance from the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
