State says it can't audit Metroparks' finances

Ohio Auditor of State Mary Taylor Friday declared Metroparks of the Toledo Area “unauditable” for fiscal year 2009, but she said the park district will provide her the information she needs within its allotted 90-day compliance period.

Metroparks spokesman Scott Carpenter said the district has taken longer than expected completing its Generally Accepted Accounting Principles report for 2009 because it was its first year for doing it.

“All of the appropriate records are available and have been available,” Mr. Carpenter said.
