Bowling Green police warn of telephone scam

BOWLING GREEN — Residents are being cautioned about a telephone scam in which callers claim to represent the Bowling Green Police Division. Police said they received complaints from several residents who received calls Monday from someone seeking donations for a “Shop with a Cop” program to help disadvantaged children.

Police said they do not solicit donations and urged anyone who receives such a call not to give money or provide any personal information to the caller.
