A Toledo man was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to five years of community control for firing a gun multiple times toward Toledo Police officers.

Christopher O'Larry, 38, of 2445 Hollywood Ave., will serve 120 days in work release as part of his probation. Judge James Jensen warned that O'Larry would be sent to prison for 16 years if he violated community control.

Authorities said that O'Larry was arrested after officers responded to a call of shots fired at 10:28 p.m. April 9, 2009, behind a house on Hollywood.

While at North Detroit and Rosewood avenues, the officers observed someone at the rear door of the Hollywood address who placed his arm out the door and shot in the direction of the officers.

O'Larry, who authorities said was intoxicated at the time, contended that he was shooting into the ground. No one was injured.

As part of the plea agreement, four additional counts of felonious assault plus attached firearm specifications were dismissed Wednesday.
