Municipal Court judge named in Van Wert
10/26/2010VAN WERT, Ohio — Former Van Wert City Law Director Jill T. Leatherman was appointed judge of Van Wert Municipal Court Tuesday by Gov. Ted Strickland.
Ms. Leatherman, 39, of Van Wert takes the place of Judge Phil Campbell, who resigned July 15 after the Ohio Supreme Court suspended his law license for professional misconduct.
Ms. Leatherman, a senior claims attorney for Central Mutual Insurance Co., will take the bench Nov. 8.
She would have to run for election in November, 2011, to retain the judgeship.
