Tiffin to transfer funds to Civil War museum

10/28/2010

TIFFIN — Tiffin City Council has agreed to transfer $44,000 to the American Civil War Museum of Ohio from an economic development fund.

Mayor James Boroff said the city expects to award the construction contract for the museum project this morning.

The low bid came in at $413,399, which left the museum about $42,000 short for renovation of the Cornerstone Building, once the local post office. Council voted 6-0 Monday to transfer money from the Northstar Industrial Park Fund, which is money generated by property sales in the park.
