2 TPS board members to announce plans for city council seats

Two Toledo Public Schools board members have scheduled a news conference for Sunday to announce their plans regarding the two seats that will open up on Toledo City Council at the end of 2010.

Bob Vasquez and Lisa Sobecki said they will appear jointly at 2 p.m. at the TPS Administration building in North Toledo to address “rumors” that have swirled since the elections of Councilman George Sarantou to Lucas County Commissioner and Councilman Michael Ashford to state representative.

Mr. Vasquez told The Blade that he doesn't plan to seek a vacancy on council because he wants to focus on his duties on the school board.

Ms. Sobecki could not be reached to find out what her plans are for the future.
