A woman escaped an apparent abduction attempt after a man with a gun pulled her into an alley in South Toledo, police said.

Kendrisa Pitts, 19, was not hurt in her struggle with the suspect, police said.

Ms. Pitts told police she was listening to music with headphones and walking to work at a McDonalds restaurant about 8:25 a.m. Thursday when she was grabbed by the arm. The suspect told her, "I have a gun, come with me," before forcing her down an alley in the 800 block of South Avenue. The suspect pulled a black handgun from his front pocket after Ms. Pitts started struggling and yelling for help. She escaped, and fled to her workplace on Broadway before calling authorities, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, in his 20s, wearing a black mask, skull cap, black parka, and dark jeans, police said.

A teenage girl was raped about three miles away in the 1300 block of East Broadway about 7:50 a.m. Nov. 6. The suspect was described as about 5 feet, 5 inches to 6 feet tall, medium build with broad shoulders, and is bald or has very short hair. He was wearing a black puffy coat, black shirt, black baseball cap, and dark jeans or Dickies.

Authorities do not believe the cases are related.
