Cab driver, 4 passengers hurt in South Toledo crash

A cab driver and his four passengers were injured early Sunday when their vehicle was struck at Reynolds Road and Heatherdowns Boulevard by a car whose driver fled the scene, Toledo police said.

The cab driver, Robert Teneyck, 56, of Oregon and his passengers were all taken to hospitals.

According to police, a Dodge Magnum was southbound on Reynolds at 2:35 a.m. when it struck a Black and White cab, which was westbound on Hea therdowns. The cab spun and struck an eastbound sport utility vehicle before coming to a stop. Victims were extricated from the car.

The unknown driver of the Magnum fled the scene by forcing a witness to take him from a nearby gas station, police said. No other details were available about the driver leaving the scene.

Injured in the crash were Susan Thurin, 23, of Pickerington, Ohio; Mark Murawski, 25, of Monclova; Allison Deckelman, 24, of Sylvania, and Alexandra Russo, 23, of Auburn, Ohio.

Hospitals said no other information was available on those patients. The SUV driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
