Two men were charged with felony drug trafficking after leading authorities on a chase across the state line after an apparent drug buy in Rossford, authorities said.

Jimmie Lee Jackson, Jr., 22, and Jeffrey Rodriquez, 27, both of Detroit, were arrested in Detroit after leading police from seven jurisdictions on a car chase that started in Wood County, said Wood County Sheriff's Detective Lt. Jamie Webb.

The two, who were subjects of an ongoing drug investigation, fled from Wood County Sheriff's deputies after an attempted traffic stop in Rossford about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Lieutenant Webb said.

The pair tossed a duffle bag out of the vehicle at the state line and continued to flee northbound I-75 for about an hour, followed by authorities from Wood County, Rossford police, Perrysburg Township police, Toledo police, U.S. Border Patrol, Michigan State Police, Monroe County Sheriff's office, and Detroit police.

After the two were arrested upon exiting the freeway at Livernois Avenue in Detroit, authorities recovered a pound of marijuana in the vehicle. The discarded duffle bag included several pounds of marijuana and a bag of cocaine, Lieutenant Webb said.

The suspects are awaiting extradition to Ohio, after which they will appear in Perrysburg Municipal Court. The case is also to be presented to the Wood County grand jury, Lieutenant Webb said.
