Sewer work will close Lewis Avenue for about 4 days
12/24/2010Sewer construction along Sylvania Avenue will require closing Lewis Avenue at Sylvania for about four days beginning at noon Monday, the city transportation division announced.
Lewis will be closed between Sylvania and Mallett Street during the work, while westbound Sylvania will be closed between Lewis and Berkeley Drive. Through traffic will be detoured via Bennett and Laskey roads.
Eastbound Sylvania will be open through the area. The closed streets are scheduled to reopen by late Thursday.
An underground utility collapse, meanwhile, has closed Berdan Avenue between Jackman Road and Wallwerth Drive.
No detour is posted, and Berdan is expected to be closed until early January.
