    Dan Bee, Jr., works to dismantle a hunk of steel brought down as part of the demolition of the former Showcase Cinemas in West Toledo. The theater complex at 3500 Secor Rd., formerly operated by National Amusements, was built in 1964 and closed in 2005.

    John Contos of Toledo, who worked at the theaters' concession stand during the 1980s, looks over some seats and other salvageable items packed up inside Showcase Cinemas. ‘I remember they gave out sharks' teeth when ‘Jaws' was playing,' Mr. Contos said.
