Water main break causes temporary flooding in downtown Toledo

1/12/2011

Don Moline, Toledo's commissioner of field operations, said an eight-inch water line that feeds a fire hydrant ruptured. City crews originally thought it was a 24-inch line break, which could have made the repair more costly and difficult.

Mr. Moline said workers were able to stop the flow of water by closing a valve. The hydrant would not function until the line is repaired, he said.
